Common Keyboard Navigation Keystrokes
1. Basic Navigation
- Tab: Move to the next focusable element (links, buttons, form fields).
- Shift + Tab: Move to the previous focusable element.
- Enter: Activate the selected element (e.g., click a link or submit a form).
- Spacebar: Activate buttons, check/uncheck checkboxes, or scroll down in scrollable areas.
2. Navigating Forms
- Arrow Keys: Move through options in a dropdown, select options in radio groups, and navigate within multi-line text fields.
- Spacebar: Select or deselect checkboxes.
- Enter: Submit a form when a submit button has focus.
3. Dialogs and Modals
- Esc: Close the modal or dialog.
5. Page and Browser Shortcuts
- Alt + Left Arrow (or Backspace): Go back to the previous page.
- Alt + Right Arrow: Go forward to the next page.
- Ctrl + F: Open the find bar to search within the page.
- Ctrl + + / Ctrl + –: Zoom in and out of the page.
